An American racing debut, translated into a personal helmet design
For his Nitro RX debut in America, Viktor Vranckx wanted a helmet that combined an American theme with the orange, black and white colours of the team he would race for. Beyond those ingredients, IMAGO had complete creative freedom.
The challenge was to bring the destinations, references and team colours together into one distinctive custom helmet design. Each element needed to tell part of the story while contributing to a strong overall composition.
American references, built into every detail
We approached the helmet as a visual journey through the places on Viktor’s race calendar. A basketball-inspired crown, palm trees, donuts, an eagle and other American motifs each referenced something typical of a race location.
Bold lettering, curved graphic lines and white accents connected these individual elements across the helmet. The composition balances impact from a distance with smaller details that reveal the story up close.
Team colours with a stronger visual impact
Strong metallic orange gave the team palette extra intensity. Combined with the helmet’s exposed carbon fibre, gloss black and white detailing, it created contrast between colour, texture and finish.
The finished helmet brought a personal interpretation of America into Viktor’s racing identity. Its colours connected him to his team, while the graphics made the design specific to his Nitro RX debut.
