The Ginger One
Building a stronger driver identity through motorsport design and photography
The Ginger One already had a distinctive name, an established orange, black and white palette, and a personality built around Thomas Martens. The challenge was to carry that character consistently across the car, helmet and imagery.
IMAGO brought rally livery design, custom helmet design and motorsport photography together under one visual direction. Each application had its own role, while strengthening the connection between Thomas and The Ginger One.
Extending the existing identity
The helmet extended the established palette into a personal application, while a racing game version carried the real-world livery into a digital environment. Together, these designs gave the identity a consistent presence across different formats. white direction. The real-world livery was also recreated for use in a racing game, carrying the same visual identity into a digital environment. Together, these applications strengthened what already existed and created a clearer foundation for the project to continue developing.
A different view of Thomas and the team
Photography played a central role in showing more than the car in competition. The coverage focused on Thomas as a person, while also including his co-driver, the team, preparation, service moments and the partners behind the project. This created a broader and more recognisable image of The Ginger One for press and communication.
