The Ginger One

Strengthening Thomas Martens’ visual identity through livery, photography, clothing and helmet design

The Ginger One already had its name, colour palette and recognisable character before working with IMAGO. Our role was to strengthen Thomas Martens’ visual identity by translating that existing foundation into a more consistent and considered visual direction.

Rather than rebuilding the brand from zero, we focused on the areas where IMAGO could make the strongest difference. Photography, livery design, helmet design and selected applications were brought closer together, helping The Ginger One feel less like a traditional rally entry and more like a distinct brand built around the driver.

Extending the existing identity

IMAGO developed the livery and helmet design within the established orange, black and white direction. The real-world livery was also recreated for use in a racing game, carrying the same visual identity into a digital environment. Together, these applications strengthened what already existed and created a clearer foundation for the project to continue developing.

A different view of Thomas and the team

Photography played a central role in showing more than the car in competition. The coverage focused on Thomas as a person, while also including his co-driver, the team, preparation, service moments and the partners behind the project. This created a broader and more recognisable image of The Ginger One for press and communication.
